Velasquez is a women’s clothing brand designed and made in Colombia. Clean lines, impeccable tailoring and subtle details are some of the features that represent the essence of designer Diana Velasquez’s brand. The store is located in the emblematic Andino Shopping Center in the city of Bogotá. The spatial design and architectural experience of this flagship store are the language that will accompany the brand as it expands to new locations.

The architectural space and elements serve as the neutral and sober backdrop that enhance and contrast with the unique character of the brand’s clothing. They create an atmosphere of tranquility that enriches the experience of the people interacting with the collections.

With its 20m2, space efficiency was a key issue. The distribution scheme is determined by a slender volume that contains the shop window, dressing rooms and storage room, while the exhibition area is surrounded by a clothing rack structure that generates rhythm and continuity to the space. A mirror in the background doubles the perception of the area and highlights the hanging pieces.

The palette of materials seeks to play with the concepts of contrast, neutrality and sophistication, using warm gray tones and white gravel, raw finishes and anodized aluminum profiles in the racks. The solid wood plays a complementary role of warmth to the metal pieces, and the soft golden velvet breaks with the roughness of the shapes and materials.
